In recent years, bioplastics made from renewable resources such as plants have gained much attention along with the growing awareness of environmental considerations. Bioworks Corporation developed a 100% bio-based additive that is designed to get the best out of polylactic acid. It realizes function enhancement of films, sheets, woven/unwoven fabrics, and resins, etc. and offers environment-friendly products for every scene of people’s life.

Why don’t you create products with us that will not exploit petroleum resources, not increase CO2 emissions (i.e. carbon neutral), and not produce waste (i.e. biodegradability with microorganisms for natural recycling), but will be chosen by following generations?

  • Make plastics from plants

Conventional plastics are made from petroleum, which is a limited resource and localized in different parts of the world. On the contrary, plants are renewable resources derived from solar energy, and are ubiquitous in a variety of forms around people.

  • Contribution to ecology (greenhouse gas reduction)

As plants are organics, they discharge carbon dioxide when being burnt. However, carbon contained in plants is derived from carbon dioxide absorbed from the atmosphere through photosynthesis during the growth processes of plants. Therefore, the use of plant-derived plastics will reduce greenhouse gas.

  • Contribution to economy (high functionality and burnable waste)

We successfully developed plant plastics with functionality (heat resistance, impact resistance, and flame resistance, etc.) comparable to that of conventional plastics. Also, our proprietary technologies retain a high degree of biomass components, allowing for their disposal as burnable waste.
